Pedigree Example | Go Back |
An example of a moderate risk colorectal cancer family is shown below. Suggestions on expanding the pedigree and management options are given.
Michelle and her siblings are at a moderate risk of developing a colorectal cancer and it is recommended that they undergo 5-yearly colonoscopic screening from the age of 35 (see surveillance guidelines for other family histories).

Suggestions for expansion of the pedigree and management options
Sally Brookes: Add children - if any. They may also require surveillance.
Ida Smith: May wish to bank a DNA sample and perhaps undertake tumour block studies.
Paul Smith and Karen Collins: Will require surveillance information.
Sarah Jones: Add siblings and check if any other cancers.
Craig and Sarah Thomas: Will be at near-population risk if their mother Michelle remains free from cancer.
