One of the guiding principles of being a Foundation Trust is that we are run locally by local people. As a Foundation Trust, we sign up members of the public, patients and staff to become members of the Trust who can vote in elections for public, patient and staff governors and stand as governors themselves.

How will members help us to shape our future?

As a Foundation Trust we remain a part of the NHS, but gain the following benefits:

• We have stronger links with patients, Families, carers and the communities we serve, so their needs will be at the heart of everything we do.
