Membership

Having Foundation Trust status means we are free from direct government control. Instead we’re accountable work for the community the Trust serves. We need members and Governors to help share our plans for the future and ensure the services we provide reflect what’s needed locally.

People join as members for different reasons, and have different connections to the Trust. Some people just want to receive regular information about the hospital while others want to make a difference and give their views on future plans. It costs nothing to join and there is no minimum time commitment. You can get involved as little or as much as you choose.

Becoming a member:

• Helps you find out how we are performing
• Keeps you up-to-date with changes
• Lets you have a say in how things are run
• Gives you access to hundreds of great discounts

Becoming a member also means you can vote in elections for the Members Council; or stand for election yourself and truly represent the community views within the Trust

As a member you are also entitled to use NHS Discounts; a service usually accessible for NHS staff and their families only.
