Facilities

The Training Centre

• Microscopes are provided
• Internet access available
• Coffee and  tea making facilities
• Toilets are situated in the Cytology Department next to the Training Centre.  For visitors with disabilities there is an easy access toilet on the ground floor, reception area of the main hospital building.
• Meals, light snacks and beverages are available in the hospital restaurant situated in the main hospital building, lower ground floor.  
• Cold beverages and snacks are available from vending machines situated in the reception area of Norton Court.
• Membership of the Trust’s Morris Centre (Sports & Social Club) is available for those attending Birmingham Cytology Training Centre courses.  The Morris Centre is situated a five minute walk from the Training Centre.  A small charge covers temporary membership for one month.  Facilities include swimming pool, solarium, sauna, gymnasium, tennis court, squash court and bar.

WRVS Shop

• Situated in the main hospital building near to the main entrance on the ground floor.  Provides a selection of newspapers, magazines, toiletries etc as well as light refreshments

Hospital Dining Room

• Situated on the lower ground floor of the main hospital building.  Visitors to the Training Centre are welcome to use this hospital staff dining room where hot meals, snacks and beverages are available.

Parking

• Parking areas are clearly marked and charged at hourly rates
• A free shuttle bus service operates every 15 minutes from the public car park, which visitors may use to be dropped off at the main hospital entrance.
• Car parking attendant patrol the car parks 24 hours per day and all areas are covered with CCTV surveillance.

Smoking

• The hospital has a no smoking policy.

Telephones

• Pay phones for general use are located in the main hospital reception.  
• We request that mobile phones are not used on the premises as they may interfere with medical equipment.

Chapel/Prayer/Quiet Room

• There is a chapel and a prayer/quiet room which are always open, on the first floor, main hospital, near the lift.  These rooms are open to everyone.
• A prayer mat is available in the prayer/quiet room.
